Susanna's Sonnet

Susanna's Sonnet

There’s something in her eyes beyond her year,
Like you can see her thinking as she grows.
When she reacts to every sound she hears,
We get a glimpse of just how much she knows.
Like a seed, she contains, all her years to come,
They live inside her e’er expanding frame.
I often wish that God would show us some
Foretaste of th’ story her life will proclaim.
But I’m content to love, and watch, and wait,
And every moment savor as it’s given,
Taking time in prayer, I’ll try to say it
Each chance I get, that I’m in debt to heaven,
And honored to fulfill my promised part,
For He gave me her life to fill my heart.
